Ren Net is hosting an Open Day in the beautiful surroundings of Baronscourt Estate on Friday, 7th February, 2014 from 09.30 – 16.30. The event offers a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs and small business owners to visit this vibrant working farm and rural business, whilst discovering more about working in or diversifying into the green economy and renewable energy sector. Attendees will also get the chance to meet existing Ren Net members and discover how membership of the network could benefit them.

The Ren Net Open Day at Baronscourt Estate will include lunch and the following elements:

  • Tour of the estate and an overview of its objectives
  • Visit to the estate’s two solar arrays, both of which are 20 kw (one is a ground mounted system, whilst the other is roof mounted system)
  • Overview of the current installation of a 150kw woodchip boiler, (at an advanced stage), along with a tour of the woodchip facilities and the forest resource from which fuel will be obtained.

After lunch, the group will visit Winters Renewables, where Gavin Winters will address attendees with a talk and tour of his business. With fossil fuel prices soaring to ever increasing highs, Gavin will take attendees through his cost saving Biomass technology expertise, which he believes will have people wondering why they’re still sticking with oil or gas.

Attendance is free, however as numbers are limited registration is required.
